When and why AI

Our philosophy is that AI should do the work that you can't or don't want to do. Transcribing audio is a great example: it's a slow, laborious process that's easy to get wrong. We give you the option to offload that work to the machines.

We also believe AI is a powerful accessibility feature. For instance, blind podcasters can have a difficult time preparing cover art for their shows. Having the option to generate simple, tasteful artwork can help these folks overcome an annoying but necessary obstacle to getting their show set up.

Responsible choices

We prefer to use only what we need and nothing more. Most tasks don't require massive frontier models from the top AI labs: using open models allows us to choose vendors that prioritize privacy and energy use over sheer performance.

No training, full stop.

We don't train AI models on your content. Never have, never will. Your content isn't for sale, and we're not trying to make more of it without you.

We stand by this: we do our diligence to ensure that all of the vendors we use to host your show comply with this policy as well: no training, full stop.

You have the choice

Some features on Pinecast use AI, like transcriptions. If you don't choose to run them, they don't get used. You're always presented with a choice.

Note: We use AI features behind the scenes to detect spam and protect our services from abuse. We choose vendors that handle your data responsibly, and it's not provided with any information that isn't otherwise made public.
